Amateur Radio operators have access to large sections of the radio spectrum. Primarily, RAYNET uses VHF (2m band) and UHF (70cm band). As well as communicating directly between operators, we are also able to employ ‘talk-through’ units to relay signal and increase our range.

Talk-through station at Garforth Cliff to provide coverage across Leeds for the annual Leeds Country Way relay race. A pneumatic mast with dual-band co-linear antenna are connected to a Yaesu FT8900 quad-band radio. This allows the control station at Garforth Leisure Centre to communicate with operators at checkpoints around the circumference of the Leeds Country Way route. |
